Leadership Team
Welcome to CWC Online! We hope you find this website a helpful and informative tool in discovering what were all about and getting involved. We would love to get acquainted personally, to learn of your journey, and to help you get connected to other people just like you, as you continue to find your way through this journey of life.
At Central Worship Center, we are purposeful and passionate in helping people discover life, and helping them live it to the full, as God intended (Jn. 10:10). We hope you'll experience CWC to be central to life, and that you'll soon call CWC home.
"Come As You Are"
Central Worship Center is a place where you can come as you are. It is a group of people from all walks of life who are being transformed by Jesus Christ. It is a place where you'll find life, and where you will hear relevant messages about real life. Every week, we join together to worship God and to experience a relevant and powerful message which teaches truths from the Bible. We are passionate about sharing the love of Christ by caring for each other and positively impacting our community. The mission of CWC is to lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ.
All experiences at CWC are comprised of the two primary elements: powerful worship and a life-changing message. Worship at Central Worship Center is led by one of our passionate worship leaders, along with a live band, and the style is consistent with today's culture. The Sunday worship service lasts for one and ½ hours - you can always expect them to start and end on time. In addition to the Sunday service, families are encouraged to spend time engaging, connecting and doing ministry with the church body throughout the week.

Back
There have been many changes through the years but Central Worship Center has a rich history. The church was originally founded in 1890 and known as Epworth Methodist church. The property was donated by a local farmer and the people of the community of Sycamore came together to build the church.
As time progressed, there was a desire with in this local body to expand. This small band of people felt the need to pursue their spiritual independence. In 1972, body of believers purchased property just down the road and changed the name of the church to Epworth Fellowship church. Although they left the Methodist conference, they felt they should keep the name to remember their heritage. The church immediately began to grow. It doubled and then tripled in size within the first year of this move.
Missions began to be birthed. It developed a passion for world missions, supporting over fifty missionaries. One of its greatest missions effort was the launching of Epworth Christian school in 1979. ECS has been educating children for over thirty years now. The school presently offers daycare, preschool and K to 8. In 2006, the name of the church was changed to Central Worship Center.
Although the name has changed, the heart and purpose of this body had continued. It was part of the vision that this church was centrally located in the county and that it is CENTRAL to LIFE. As we face new opportunities with the passing of each year, the goal is always the same. We must reach one person at a time.
1. WE BELIEVE the Bible is the inspired Word of God.
2. WE BELIEVE there is only one true God revealed in three persons...Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (commonly known as the Trinity).
3. WE BELIEVE...that Jesus is fully God and fully man. As God's son Jesus was both human and divine.
4. WE BELIEVE...though originally good, man willingly fell into sin, ushering evil and death, both physical and spiritual, into the world.
5. WE BELIEVE...every person can have a restored relationship with Christ. By placing our trust in Christ, through faith and repentance, He'll be our personal Savior.
6. WE BELIEVE...and practice two ordinances: (1) Water Baptism by Immersion after repenting of one's sins and receiving Christ's gift of salvation, and (2) Holy Communion (the Lord's Supper) as a symbolic remembrance of Christ's suffering and death for our salvation.
7. WE BELIEVE...the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a special experience following salvation that empowers believers for witnessing and effective service, just as it did in New Testament times. [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the AG]
8. WE BELIEVE... The Initial Physical Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is Speaking in Tongues, as experienced on the Day of Pentecost and referenced throughout Acts and the Epistles.
9. WE BELIEVE...Sanctification Initially Occurs at Salvation and is not only a declaration that a believer is holy, but also a progressive lifelong process of separating from evil as believers continually draw closer to God and become more Christlike.
10. WE BELIEVE...The Church has a Mission to seek and save all who are lost in sin. We believe 'the Church' is the Body of Christ and consists of the people who, throughout time, have accepted God's offer of redemption (regardless of religious denomination) through the sacrificial death of His son Jesus Christ.
11. WE BELIEVE...A Divinely Called and Scripturally Ordained Leadership Ministry Serves the Church. The Bible teaches that each of us under leadership must commit ourselves to reach others for Christ, to worship Him with other believers, to build up or edify the body of believersthe Church and to meet human need with ministries of love and compassion.
12. WE BELIEVE...Divine Healing of the Sick is a Privilege for Christians Today and is provided for in Christ's atonement (His sacrificial death on the cross for our sins). [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the AG]
13. WE BELIEVE...in The Blessed HopeWhen Jesus Raptures His Church Prior to His Return to Earth (the second coming). At this future moment in time all believers who have died will rise from their graves and will meet the Lord in the air, and Christians who are alive will be caught up with them, to be with the Lord forever. [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the AG]
14. WE BELIEVE...in The Millennial Reign of Christ when Jesus returns with His saints at His second coming and begins His benevolent rule over earth for 1,000 years. This millennial reign will bring the salvation of national Israel and the establishment of universal peace.
15. WE BELIEVE...A Final Judgment Will Take Place for those who have rejected Christ. They will be judged for their sin and consigned to eternal punishment in a punishing lake of fire.
16. WE BELIEVE...and look forward to the perfect New Heavens and a New Earth that Christ is preparing for all people, of all time, who have accepted Him. We will live and dwell with Him there forever following His millennial reign on Earth. 'And so shall we forever be with the Lord!'

At Central Worship Center, we strongly believe that discipleship and relationships are a priority in a person's spiritual growth. We offer three different ways for this to happen.
First, is our Sunday School program. Secondly is our Wednesday night classes. The subjects change quarterly, and there are usually several classes to choose from. Lastly is our Life Groups. Our Life Groups meet in individual homes throughout the week.
Feel free to call the church office if you have any other questions concerning our discipleship process.

Small Groups:
Life Groups are a small group ministry of Central Worship Center (CWC). While there are several ways to get connected with others at CWC, Life Groups are the primary avenue we've established to grow in relationship with God and others. These small groups often are held in people's homes throughout the community, and meet on a bi-weekly basis. God hasn't called us to go through life alone. Life Groups allow you to do life with others at your stage of life. It takes groups of people who are perhaps slightly acquainted with one another at CWC, and helps them come into a closer relationship with one another and with God. It is a place where people care for one another and bear one anothers burdens (Gal. 6:2). Each group shares their prayer concerns and has prayer, the lesson with questions and answers and refreshments.

They are for adults of all ages, stages of life, and spiritual maturity.

MSC 2010 Highlights
Our infant & toddler nursery is located on the ground floor, just down the hall from the cafeteria and preschool.
Description:
Our nursery, Noah's Landing, provides a safe and loving atmosphere for your children. We accept children from infants to age 4.
For our toddlers, our time is broken up into 4 blocks: praise & worship (with instruments), a short Bible study, snack time, and -of course- playtime. We are blessed to be able to have many volunteers working with our children, many of whom are CPR certified. So, in addition to being safe, your children will have caring friends to play with and individual attention.
At this time we have two rooms we are utilizing for the toddler & nursery area. There is a large play room, and a separate quiet room. The quiet room is equipped with cribs for the little ones. Both rooms are adjoined, and are safe and secure.
Procedure:
When you arrive, you will sign in your child and be given a pager. You then can head into the adult service with the peace of mind that if you're needed, you can be easily reached. After service, you will return your pager and pick up your child. Our policy does not allow anyone but parents to pick up their children.
